The Rocky Mountain Lyre Choir is a handful of lyre players on both sides of the Continental Divide wanting to grow our lyre community. Our First Annual Rocky Mountain Lyre Spa Gathering will be held in the beautiful mountain town of Carbondale, CO.

A year ago, Kerry Lee gave me an article that Christof-Andreas Lindenberg wrote in 1986, titled “The Advent Garden and the Lyre.” After having played at two Advent Gardens this year, I revisited this article and am grateful to be part of this history and the therapeutic impulse that lies behind the simultaneous creation of Advent Garden and the modern lyre in 1926.

On Sunday, December 1st, the Uriel Center for Human Renewal through the Arts and Education in Cuenca, Ecuador sponsored our fifth annual Advent Garden. The Uriel Center is serving as a center for anthroposophic activity here in Cuenca and has most recently become home for a budding local Waldorf early childhood program.

We are happy to announce our Resonare Reunion in March 2020!

This will be a wonderful opportunity to re-connect with the work of Resonare, and to join with friends to sing, move, and make music together. This long weekend will take place at Camphill Copake, in Columbia County, NY from March 12-15, 2020.

From the front page of the book of lyre music, published in 2018, the lotus flower is glowing. The symbol of compassion and heart forces was the inspiration for Moments of Stillness, as the collection of five pieces for one or two lyres is called. The pieces enchant particularly through their purity and beauty.

Dew Drops, the second book, published in 2019, connects in its character with the lotus flower, the symbol for inner growth and life. "Dew drops" glisten and reflect the surrounding in a concentrated form. Point and circumference are beautifully united.

Thirty-one members and friends of LANA met July 1st in Kimberton, PA for the 2019 Annual General Meeting of the Lyre Association of North America. They came from California, Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, as well as South Korea and Ecuador.

In late July, a group of six Resonare faculty members and students brought an evening of lyre music and song to the House of Peace in Ipswich, MA.

We are excited to share a new initiative with our members! The Lyre Connection offers an opportunity for experienced lyrists to support and nurture a growing community of beginners. As we move the lyre forward in the 21st century, we are enthusiastic about sharing our instrument with a new generation of players.

Since the ancient lyre also plays an important part in Greek mythology, the chairman of Japan Panflute Association (JPA), Mr. Atsushi Nakamura, invited me to play together with him in Greece. We played two musical tunes, old and new, which are well explained in the this YouTube video.

Here in Brazil our work with the Kântele musical instruments with parents and teachers has grown in the last year.
