Jan Braunstein is making his first concert/lyre workshop tour in the US between June 8 and July 1. He will be in Kimberton, Pennsylvania June 7-9, 2018. (Contact email@example.com for more information.)
Jan was born and raised in the Czech Republic. He is presently dedicating himself full-time to being a freelance lyrist. Jan brings experience as a Waldorf teacher, music therapist, conductor, freelance musician, lyre teacher and lyre innovator. He has toured Australia, Japan, Europe, South Korea and China.
He has worked at the J.A. Comenius Waldorf School for children with special needs, has founded and directed a chamber choir and orchestra at the Academy Tabor, continuously furthers his studies in various genres of music (classical, jazz, folk), and has been the first to teach lyre at the International Conservatory in Prague.
His great passion for the lyre led him in 2008 to design and build his own instrument with a ‘whole-tone’ string arrangement.
Jan offers workshops for all levels with the emphasis on an artistic or therapeutic approach. He enjoys working with lyres together with other instruments and/or singers. Introducing groups to improvisational playing is another forte of his.
A typical concert program will include music from the classical repertoire as well as some improvisational elements and compositions by Jan.
Programs can be adjusted in length and content to individual requests.
If you would like to invite Jan to your area, please contact Christina Porkert for more information: firstname.lastname@example.org or call 518-758-2428.
