International Lyre Day is next week... are you ready?
/We are hoping you will plan to join the worldwide lyre community for the first-ever International Lyre Day which is coming up soon! Our vision is that the day will begin on Monday, July 20th at 10:00 a.m. U.S. EDT, but please feel free to tailor the date and time to the needs of your region.
If you missed our communication with important details about the day, please click HERE.
Here are some suggestions to help you prepare for the day:
1) Find a group of lyrists in your area to play with (click HERE to see the list of hosts), or let us know that you are available to host a gathering by filling out THIS survey.
2) If you are planning to participate in International Lyre Day, whether with a group or by yourself, please email us at lyrists@gmail.com. We would be grateful for just a brief message saying that you'll be participating in the event. After the day is over, we will compile a list of all the participants and the areas of the world they represent.
3) Download music and readings for the day! The downloads can be found on our website (www.lyreassociation.org/lyreday), and more specific directions can be found HERE.
4) Please make time during the day for our all-community Zoom call at 3:00 p.m. EDT on July 20th. This will be a very brief meeting (15 minutes maximum) so that we can greet each other from our different locations and give encouragement from afar. (The link will be available on our website that day.)
5) We would love to see your photos from International Lyre Day! Please take some pictures during the day and share them on the World Lyre Community's Facebook page. Photos can be shared during the course of the day or afterward.
This is going to be a wonderful event and a much-needed sharing of community during these unusual times. We hope that whether you are in a group or alone, meeting on July 20th or thereabout, you will feel uplifted and inspired by the music and readings, the connection with new friends and old, and the beautiful sound of the lyre!
With best wishes for a joyful International Lyre Day,
The LANA Board
